Hyundai and Amazon have teamed up to redefine how customers buy cars, offering a seamless and stress-free experience. Shoppers can now browse Hyundai models on Amazon, select their desired trim, customize options, and check out online. Payments, paperwork, and financing are all completed digitally, eliminating the need for prolonged dealership visits. After purchasing, customers simply head to a Hyundai dealership to pick up their car, ensuring a quick and hassle-free process.
This approach also removes traditional car-buying frustrations such as price negotiations and hidden markups. Amazon’s system transparently shows available incentives and financing options, creating a straightforward shopping experience. Hyundai's Shopper Assurance program is included, offering a three-day exchange policy for added customer confidence.
Despite the online focus, dealerships remain vital to the Hyundai-Amazon model. Customers can still visit physical locations to test-drive cars, ensuring the vehicle meets their expectations before committing. Amazon’s inventory listings reflect dealership stock, so wait times for vehicle pick-up are minimal—often within a few days.
Dealerships must meet Amazon’s high standards to participate in this program. Only those who prioritize customer satisfaction and innovation are eligible, ensuring a premium buying experience. Currently, the program is live in 54 markets, covering 71% of Hyundai's U.S. sales.
This hybrid model leverages dealerships as hubs for in-person interactions, preserving the personal touch while embracing digital convenience.
The partnership extends beyond car sales, integrating Amazon Alexa into Hyundai vehicles. Starting in 2025, drivers can use voice commands to manage smart home devices from their cars, enhancing convenience and connectivity.
Additionally, Hyundai has adopted Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its cloud provider to improve operations and ensure secure data management. AWS will enable Hyundai to innovate in both customer experiences and production efficiency, further solidifying this forward-thinking collaboration.
Hyundai and Amazon's partnership isn’t just about selling cars—it’s about shaping the future of mobility with convenience and technology at its core.
Started my career in Automotive Journalism in 2015. Even though I'm a pharmacist, hanging around cars all the time has created a passion for the automotive industry since day 1.
