Mercedes-AMG has unleashed the 2025 GT 63 S E Performance, setting a new standard in the high-performance luxury sedan segment. As the most powerful model in the GT 4-Door lineup, this plug-in hybrid (PHEV) super sedan boasts an astonishing 831 horsepower, making it significantly more potent than rivals like the BMW M5. While pricing remains undisclosed, the GT 63 S E Performance is expected to be positioned above the GT 43 and GT 53 models.
The heart of this super sedan lies in its 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, paired with a high-performance electric motor. This combination delivers a staggering 831 hp and 1,032 lb-ft (1,399 Nm) of torque, making it one of the most powerful production sedans in the world. Thanks to its nine-speed automatic transmission and fully variable all-wheel-drive system, the GT 63 S E Performance sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 317 km/h.
Despite being a PHEV, performance remains the primary focus. A 4.8 kWh battery enables a limited electric driving range, while the four-stage brake regeneration system can recover up to 100 kW of energy, enhancing efficiency without compromising driving dynamics.
Visually, updates are subtle yet refined. The front grille now features a redesigned lower section in gloss black, giving it a bolder, more aggressive look. The air intakes have been reshaped, replacing the gaping openings of the previous model with sleeker, more understated vents, reminiscent of the second-generation AMG GT Coupe.
The AMG Performance steering wheel is now standard, while AMG-specific digital displays enhance the MBUX infotainment system. These refinements ensure that the GT 63 S E Performance remains at the pinnacle of luxury and high-performance innovation.
With pricing yet to be confirmed, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance promises to redefine expectations for super sedans, merging cutting-edge hybrid technology with uncompromising power and design.
