  • How did the presence of Ing. Piero Ferrari and his family enhance the significance of the Ferrari event at Casa Maria Luigia?
  • How did Luigi Orlandini highlight the responsibility of preserving Enzo Ferrari's legacy at the Cavallino Classic Modena 2024?

From May 17 to 19, the fourth edition of the Cavallino Classic Modena took place, celebrating the legendary work of Enzo Ferrari in the city where it all began. This annual Concorso d’Eleganza, known for its “boutique event” formula, once again drew collectors and enthusiasts from around the globe, attracted by the historical and cultural significance of classic Ferraris.

This year's event, held at the picturesque Casa Maria Luigia, was a resounding success, confirming the prestige of this intimate gathering. The limited number of carefully selected cars, the unique venue, the exceptional cuisine of Massimo Bottura, and the exclusive, invitation-only setting contributed to the event's allure, with certain moments open to the wider public of car enthusiasts.

Over the three-day event, thirty extraordinary Ferraris adorned the historic park of Casa Maria Luigia. Participants were treated to the unparalleled hospitality of Massimo and Lara Bottura, while Cavallino judges, many of whom traveled from the United States, meticulously evaluated the vehicles to determine the winners.

The presence of Ing. Piero Ferrari, son of the founder Enzo Ferrari, along with his daughter Antonella and grandchildren Enzo and Piero, added a special significance to the event. Their attendance was greatly appreciated by collectors and organizers alike, underscoring the deep connection to the Ferrari legacy. Among the notable guests were racing legend Sebastian Vettel, Jean Arnault and Zita D’Hauteville, Kristian and Carolyn Teär, Alessandro and Karina Valenti, Augustin Sabatié-Garat, Duccio Lopresto, Alberto Galassi, Filippo Magnini and Giorgia Palmas, Giovanni Tronchetti Provera, and the head of Ferrari Classiche Andrea Modena.

Luigi Orlandini, Chairman and CEO of Cavallino, addressed the participants and guests, highlighting the significant responsibility of preserving and promoting the rich history and passion of Enzo Ferrari’s masterpieces. Since its inception in 1978, Cavallino has been dedicated to this mission through its magazine and Concorso di Eleganza events, now held across three continents.

“Ours is a great responsibility,” Orlandini emphasized, “which we uphold through our magazine and our Concorso di Eleganza. Our judges maintain the same stringent and objective standards in car evaluation, while our team strives to make the event increasingly unique, enjoyable, international, and inclusive for all generations.”

Orlandini also praised the synergy of excellences present at the event: the stunning Ferrari cars, the hospitality of Massimo and Lara Bottura, the iconic dishes of Osteria Francescana, and the contributions of event partners like Riva, Bang & Olufsen, Ferrari Trento, and RM Sotheby’s.

The 2024 edition saw the coveted Best of Show Gran Turismo awarded to the 1971 365 GTB4 with chassis #14405. The Best of Show Competizione went to the 1954 Ferrari 250 Monza with chassis #0466, while the Best of Show Ferrari Classiche Certified was awarded to the 1997 Ferrari F50 with chassis #107125.

The event also featured thrilling on-road experiences. On Saturday, May 18, a parade of Ferraris stopped at the birthplace of Enzo Ferrari, now part of the MEF Museum. On Sunday, May 19, the cars followed test drivers' routes to Maranello before continuing to Casa Canossa, where the Cavallino Modena 2024 concluded with a luxurious lunch by the pool.

Massimo Bottura, renowned chef and host, shared his enthusiasm for the event, expressing his dream of hosting these magnificent cars and sharing the art of cooking and hospitality with the guests. The combination of world-class automobiles, culinary excellence, and the storied history of Ferrari created an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

The Cavallino Classic Modena 2024 not only honored the legacy of Enzo Ferrari but also celebrated the timeless beauty and engineering prowess of Ferrari cars, ensuring that the passion for these masterpieces continues to thrive for generations to come.
