Since making its debut in December 2021, the FORMULA 1 STC SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX has established itself as one of the most exciting, adrenaline-fueled races in F1. The Jeddah Corniche Circuit continues to set records as the longest and fastest street circuit on the planet, with drivers reaching average speeds of 252 km/h while 79 percent of a lap on the famous track is spent at full throttle – the highest figure for any F1 circuit!

Approximately half a million visitors have passed through the gates of Saudi Arabia’s biggest annual sporting and entertainment event since 2021, with fans coming from all over Saudi Arabia as well as over 130 different countries, making the FORMULA 1 STC SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX a truly global event. Of last year’s visitors, 30 percent were female, representing an 11 percent increase on the 2023 event and showcasing the growing interest in motorsport amongst the Saudi female population.

Beyond the track, the FORMULA STC SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX continues to inspire and empower future generations. The 2024 race in Jeddah saw the F1 Academy – the pioneering all-female racing series – make its debut in the Kingdom, featuring local hero and Saudi Arabia’s first-ever female racer, Reema Juffali, as a wildcard entry.

In preparation for this historic occasion, SMC partnered with 31 schools and universities across the country to stress the positive impact of hosting this groundbreaking series in Saudi Arabia for the first time. Indeed, 1,126 female students were directly engaged with the F1 Academy via a series of activations – including a Career Day featuring talks from F1 Academy CEO Susie Wolff and Reema Juffali at Jeddah’s famous Effat University highlighting the many career opportunities that now exist for young women in motorsports. Furthermore, six female Saudi students were subsequently chosen for a special F1 Academy internship.

In total, SMC engaged with 99,000 young men and women directly via a string of motorsport related educational programmes and activities across the Kingdom’s schools and universities, including road shows, karting events, career days, volunteer programmes, and talent development programmes.
