The Jeep Grand Cherokee 2026 returns with a bold mission to blend high performance with fuel efficiency like never before. Its secret weapon? A revolutionary new turbocharged engine built with advanced combustion technology. Alongside a refreshed design and streamlined trims, Jeep is aiming to redefine what a midsize SUV can deliver. From the innovative Hurricane 4 engine to an updated cabin experience, the new Grand Cherokee is built for both adventure and efficiency.
At the heart of the Grand Cherokee 2026 is the Hurricane 4 Turbo, one of the first production engines to use TJI (Turbulent Jet Ignition) technology. This system lights fuel in a tiny pre-chamber before sending the flame into the main chamber, improving how clean and fast the fuel burns. The result is a 20 percent increase in power and 10 percent better fuel efficiency compared to the previous 2.0 liter engine.
This new 2.0 liter inline-four turbo is built from lightweight aluminum and uses a dual injection system, two spark plugs per cylinder, and a high pressure turbo that pushes up to 35 psi. It runs regular 87 octane fuel with a compression ratio of 12 to 1, delivering smooth performance across city and highway driving.
With 324 horsepower and 450 Newton meters of torque, the Hurricane engine delivers instant pull. Over 90 percent of that torque is available between 2,600 and 5,600 rpm, making it quick from almost any speed. The SUV can tow up to 2,812 kilograms and offers a driving range of over 814 kilometers per tank.
That balance of power and practicality means drivers no longer need to choose between strong performance and daily efficiency. This makes the new Grand Cherokee a serious option for families, commuters, and off road adventurers alike.
Jeep updated the Grand Cherokee’s look with a sharper front grille, new front and rear lighting, and bolder bumpers. Inside, the SUV now includes a 12.3 inch center screen and an optional 10.3 inch screen for the front passenger, paired with smoother infotainment software.
The model lineup has also been simplified to three main trims: Laredo, Limited, and Summit. While the V6 Pentastar engine remains on entry models, the Hurricane 4 becomes available starting from the Laredo Altitude trim. Buyers can also pick from three new colors: Steel Blue, Copper Shino, and Fathom Blue.
Jeep continues to offer the plug in hybrid option on Trailhawk, Summit, and Limited trims. While prices for the 2026 mode
