MG’s decision to invest $135 million in a factory in Egypt’s New October City highlights its ambition to enhance its market presence in Europe and Africa. The plant will initially produce 50,000 vehicles annually, with plans to scale up to 100,000 units. The first model, the facelifted MG5, will roll out featuring enhanced design and advanced technology. The facility will also create around 10,000 direct and indirect jobs, boosting Egypt’s industrial sector while solidifying MG’s global ambitions.

Spanning 126,000 square meters, the factory will house cutting-edge facilities, including an 8,000-square-meter body shop, a sophisticated paint shop, and dedicated assembly and administrative areas. Designed as part of Egypt’s “fourth-generation cities,” the plant exemplifies modern industrial planning and innovation.
