Toyota’s Gazoo Racing division just revealed its latest sports car icon, the all new GR GT. This machine is built for those who crave pure performance and next level engineering, blending classic inspiration with cutting edge tech. From its ultra low center of gravity to its all aluminum body and track ready features, the GR GT promises to set new standards for what a true road legal race car can achieve.
At the heart of the GR GT sits a completely new twin turbocharged V8 engine, paired with an integrated electric motor. This combination delivers at least 640 horsepower and nearly 850 newton meters of torque through a new eight speed automatic transmission. Toyota has made it clear that these numbers are just the start, with production versions possibly offering even more power. Rear wheel drive and a rapid shifting gearbox give drivers maximum control on both street and track, while the hybrid setup promises instant response out of every corner.
For the first time, Toyota has crafted a full aluminum chassis for a production car, wrapped in carbon fiber reinforced panels and plastic for extra weight savings. The result is a total weight target under 1750 kilograms, making the GR GT lighter than many hybrid sports rivals. This featherweight build helps deliver sharper handling, more effective braking, and aerodynamic efficiency, thanks to its low stance, wide Michelin tires, and carbon ceramic brakes.
Step inside and you get a perfect blend of race ready focus and premium touches. The cabin features carbon backed Recaro seats, a minimalist layout aimed at the driver, and luxury cues borrowed from Lexus. Toyota even left out the company badge, letting the GR identity stand on its own. Developed side by side with the new GR GT3, the car shares key components like the engine, suspension, and core architecture, bringing a genuine motorsport spirit to the street.
