In a world rapidly transitioning towards sustainable transportation solutions, automakers are embracing the electrification revolution with open arms. Among the frontrunners in this movement is Kia, which has been steadily expanding its electric vehicle (EV) lineup. The latest addition to this electrified fleet is the much-anticipated 2025 Kia EV5, a family-friendly compact SUV that seamlessly combines practicality with futuristic design.

A Glimpse into the Future: Concept Car Looks

Kia has always been keen on pushing the boundaries of automotive design, and the EV5 is a testament to their commitment to innovation. Boasting concept car looks that turn heads and challenge traditional norms, the EV5 is not just a mode of transportation; it's a statement piece on wheels.

The exterior of the EV5 is a harmonious blend of sleek lines, bold accents, and a streamlined silhouette. Its crossover design incorporates elements from the popular SUV and coupe segments, resulting in a dynamic profile that exudes both elegance and sportiness. Up front, a distinctive illuminated front grille catches the eye, while the smooth curves and sculpted surfaces create an aerodynamic appeal.

Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP): A Foundation for Success

Built on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the 2025 Kia EV5 shares its underpinnings with its stablemates, the EV6 crossover and EV9 SUV. This advanced architecture has been purposefully designed for electric vehicles, allowing for a spacious interior, efficient packaging of batteries, and optimal weight distribution.

The E-GMP platform has not only enabled Kia to create an aesthetically pleasing design but also to provide a functional and comfortable interior space. Thanks to the absence of a traditional internal combustion engine, the EV5 offers a roomy cabin with ample legroom for passengers in both the front and rear seats. Additionally, the flat floor contributes to a more versatile cargo area, making it a practical choice for families and urban adventurers alike.

Beneath the EV5's futuristic exterior lies a powerful electric drivetrain that delivers a thrilling driving experience. While specific details about the powertrain options are yet to be revealed, the lineage of the E-GMP platform suggests that the EV5 will likely offer impressive acceleration, smooth power delivery, and a competitive driving range.

As consumers increasingly prioritize sustainability, Kia's commitment to providing a zero-emission solution is commendable. By eliminating tailpipe emissions and reducing overall carbon footprints, the 2025 EV5 contributes to a cleaner environment and a more sustainable future.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The 2025 Kia EV5 doesn't just excel in terms of design and performance; it also embraces cutting-edge technology. The interior is equipped with an array of infotainment features and connectivity options that cater to the demands of modern-day drivers and passengers. A large touchscreen display at the center of the dashboard serves as the hub for navigation, entertainment, and vehicle settings, while advanced driver assistance systems enhance safety and convenience.

As Kia's third all-electric vehicle based on the E-GMP platform, the 2025 EV5 represents a significant step forward in the brand's electrification journey. By offering a family-friendly compact SUV with concept car looks, Kia is not only catering to the growing demand for electric vehicles but also challenging conventional automotive design norms.

With its forward-thinking design, advanced technology, and commitment to sustainable mobility, the 2025 Kia EV5 is poised to make a lasting impact on the electric vehicle market. As consumers seek vehicles that align with their values and aspirations, the EV5 presents itself as a compelling option that embraces the future while delivering on the practical needs of today's families and urban explorers.

Porsche plans a trio of powertrains for the Cayenne into the next decade

For more than 20 years, the Cayenne has been characterised by its ability to provide the broad range of qualities between characteristic Porsche driving performance, excellent comfort in everyday driving, and great capability when driving off-road. The future models of the SUV will seamlessly continue this success story, retaining all of the car’s familiar features.

“The Cayenne has always defined the sports car in its segment. In the middle of the decade, the fourth generation will set standards in the segment as an electric SUV,” said Blume, CEO of Porsche AG. At the same time, into the next decade our customers will still be able to choose from a wide range of powerful and efficient combustion and hybrid models.

"The third generation of the Cayenne will be further upgraded and will continue to be offered alongside the fourth, all-electric generation".

The current Cayenne generation, which last year was given one of the most extensive product upgrades in the history of Porsche, will be further developed with major technological investment in the future. Here the developers will be focusing, among other things, on the powertrains, in particular on improving the efficiency of the V8 developed by Porsche and built at the Zuffenhausen engine plant. Extensive technical measures will ensure that the twin-turbo engine is ready to comply with future legislative requirements.
