The Royal Automobile Jordan Museum is the best place to
visit in Amman, Jordan, if you’re a car enthusiast. According to some visitors,
it is a heaven of cars! The museum has the best cars that Amman has to offer,
and most of these cars belong to the royal family. Let’s go on a trip together
inside the museum to show what kind of cars it has inside and why it is a
heaven of cars on earth. The museum was built by king of Jordan, Abdullah II,
and it’s a tribute to his father’s passion to cars and motorcycles.
The authentic Martian Rover is the spaceship from the 2015
film, the Martian, which stared Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain. The movie was
filmed in Jordan’s astonishing Wadi Rum area. Thus, the producers gifted it to
the Royal Automobile Museum, and it is the only one in the world. It actually
works on a diesel engine, and the steering wheel as well as the doors work hydraulically.
Some say that due to the Jordan law that used to impose custom charges on
spaceships, it was gifted to the museum.
You won’t believe that the museum actually has a replica of the first car ever officially presented to the world. It is a replica of the first car that was manufactured by Karl Benz in 1886, and Karl Benz is known for inventing the first car ever. The car was driven in 1888 by his wife, Bertha Benz, who was the first woman to drive an automobile and went on the first long-distance drive in the history of automobiles.
One of the most beautiful cars that your eyes may land on is the Mercedes SLR Mclaren Stirling Moss, which belongs to the Royal collection. The production of this car was limited to only 75 units in the whole world. This car has a supercharged 5.4L V8 that produces 641HP and 820Nm of torque. Another iconic Mercedes in the collection is the 1970 Mercedes- Benz 600 Grosser Pullman, the German manufacturer’s biggest and most luxurious.
One of the best sounding cars in the world and one of the most iconic is the Porsche Carrera GT. It has a 5.7L V10 that produces a huge power of 603HP and 590Nm of torque, connected to a 6-speed manual transmission. It is one of the King Abudullah II’s favorite cars. The car has been spotted before roaming between Jordan’s streets before it has been put in the museum.
Beside the Carrera GT, you'll find many other classic Porsche 911 cars. Add to that, there's a Bugatti Veyron, and the iconic BMW M1, the one that has a great history with BMW M power. At the end of the museum, you'll end your day with rally cars, which the king himself and his father used in rally races. Two beatuiful red ferraris, A Ferrari F50 and a Ferrari F40, also take place together at the exhibition.
King Hussein had a great passion for cars, but his passion
didn’t only concern cars. It also includes motorcycles, and the Royal
Automobile Museum contains his impressive bikes collection. His motorcycles
collection includes a beautiful Harley-Davidson in black and red, and it’s
displayed in the Museum as well. In other words, the museum is not only a place
for car enthusiasts but also for motorcycles enthusiasts; there, you’ll find
King Hussein’s big collection of motorcycles. If you go in depth, you’ll also
find royal ambulance motorcycles. You’ll also find a 1-of-1 Lamborghini Type
Reventon bike.
