Sedan or wagon: With the BRABUS PowerXtra B53 – 700 performance upgrade, the E 53 in BRABUS specification produces a system output of 515 kW / 700 hp (691 bhp) and a peak system torque of 850 Nm (627 lb-ft). Despite its curb weight of around 2.3 metric tons, the all-wheel-drive sedan then accelerates in just 3.6 seconds from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph). The top speed is electronically limited to 280 km/h (174 mph).

An auxiliary plug-and-play control unit is adapted to the electronic controls of the internal combustion engine, which introduces custom maps for injection and ignition while increasing the boost pressure. This bumps peak power of the turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder gasoline engine from standard 330 kW / 449 hp to 395 kW / 537 hp (443 to 530 bhp) at 6,100 rpm. At the same time, peak torque rises from 560 to 660 Nm (413 to 487 lb-ft). BRABUS recommends high-performance motor oil from technology partner MOTUL.

The hybrid drive system also includes an electric motor with an output of 120 kW / 163 hp (161 bhp) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque. It is supplied by a 28.6kWh lithium/ion battery and remains unchanged.

Another main focus of the new customization range lies in the look. The BRABUS designers have developed equally attractive and aerodynamically efficient bodywork components for the sedan and wagon, which are produced from exposed-structure carbon and offer a choice of matte or high-gloss finish.

The front view can be enhanced with the three-piece BRABUS front spoiler, which optimizes the handling stability at high speeds. In addition, tailor-made carbon surrounds for the side air intakes and the radiator grille can lend the striking BRABUS face an even more athletic expression.

The sides of all E 53 models can be refined with the BRABUS fender attachments made from that same high-tech composite material. At the rear, the markedly sporty BRABUS diffuser with four integral 90mm (3.5 in) titanium/carbon tailpipe tips provides another visual highlight. The sedan can be upgraded with the BRABUS rear spoiler in order to generate additional downforce at high speeds and give the rear end an even sportier touch.

The BRABUS “PLATINUM EDITION” high-end alloys, custom-developed for the wider wheel wells of the Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+, are another key factor in the thrilling look. They come in five different designs. The sedan pictured here runs on Monoblock Z wheels of sizes 9Jx21 at the front and 10.5Jx21 at the rear. The wagon in the images is upgraded with BRABUS Monoblock M “PLATINUM EDITION” rims of the identical sizes. The high-performance tires of sizes 265/35 ZR 21 und 305/30 ZR 21 are perfectly tailored to the vehicle and supplied by BRABUS tire technology partner Continental and Hankook.

BRABUS developed height-adjustable sport springs to make the handling even more dynamic and place even greater emphasis on the sporty appearance. They allow infinitely variable ride-height lowering by between 15 and 30 millimeters (0.6 and 1.2 in).

Sheer luxury and individuality in the interior are of course also part of the BRABUS range for the Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+. It starts with stainless-steel scuff plates in two different variants. Both feature the BRABUS logo, but while it is backlit in white in one variant, the backlighting of the other changes color in sync with the 64 different colors of the standard ambient lighting.

Sporty carbon or aluminum touches can be added with the BRABUS pedal pads. High-quality BRABUS velour floor mats with black nubuck edging as well as silver-colored piping and seams lend the vehicle’s footwells and luggage compartment an even more exquisite ambience.
