Rimac Automobili, the Croatian electric vehicle manufacturer, is celebrating its 15th anniversary in style. To mark this significant milestone, the company has unveiled a special-edition hypercar, the Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition. This exclusive model is limited to just nine units, each priced at €2.35 million ($2.54 million). The first car will make its debut at the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it will showcase its performance by tackling the iconic hill climb.

The Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition stands out with its unique copper-colored exterior, featuring a matte finish on the top half and exposed gloss carbon fiber on the bottom. This marks the first time Rimac has used matte paint on the Nevera, and the result is nothing short of spectacular. The copper theme extends to the wheels, which are accented with the same striking hue. Special “15” year anniversary badging on the doors further distinguishes this model, along with Rimac’s signature circuit board-like pattern running the length of the car.

Inside, the copper motif continues with anodized switchgear and accents. Customers can choose between black or white finishes for the cabin and seats. The number “15” is embossed on the copper headrests and door cards, celebrating Rimac's anniversary. Additionally, the car's production number and the years “2009-2024” are proudly displayed between the seats. The Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition also includes all available options and a bespoke luggage set that matches the car's unique style.

While the exterior and interior of the Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition have received significant updates, the powertrain remains the same as the standard Nevera. This means it packs an astonishing 1,914 horsepower and 1,740 pound-feet of torque. The hypercar can sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 1.75 seconds and has a top speed of 258 mph. These figures ensure that the special edition Nevera is not only a visual masterpiece but also a performance beast.

Rimac's journey from a small startup to a renowned automaker has been nothing short of remarkable. Founder Mate Rimac began by converting his 1984 BMW E30 3 Series into an electric car. Since then, the company has made significant strides in the automotive industry. The Concept_One, revealed in 2011, was Rimac's first production model, delivered to customers five years later. The C_Two debuted in 2018, serving as the precursor to the Nevera we see today.

In 2021, Rimac merged with Bugatti to form Bugatti-Rimac, resulting in the creation of the Tourbillon. The company has also ventured into battery technology, partnering with BMW Group to develop and produce high-voltage battery tech for future models. Additionally, Rimac is working on an autonomous robotaxi called Verne, slated to launch in Europe in 2026.

Despite its success with electric vehicles, Rimac is not limiting itself to electric powertrains. Mate Rimac has acknowledged the changing preferences of high-end buyers, some of whom are turning away from electric vehicles. In response, Rimac has been developing combustion engine technology alongside its electric innovations. This strategic move suggests that Rimac's future may include a blend of electric and combustion engine vehicles, potentially shaping the company's next 15 years.

The Rimac Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition is a testament to the company's growth and innovation over the past 15 years. With its stunning copper-colored exterior, luxurious interior, and unmatched performance, this limited-edition hypercar is a fitting tribute to Rimac's journey from a garage startup to a leading name in the automotive industry. As Rimac looks to the future, it is poised to continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the world of high-performance vehicles.
