As the EV market heats up with high-tech features and rising prices, Chevrolet offers something refreshingly practical: the 2025 Equinox EV. Designed for drivers who want range, tech, and affordability in one sleek package, this all-electric SUV balances cost and comfort with impressive urban mobility. At a starting price of around 47,000 SAR (converted from USD), it's set to reshape expectations in the budget electric SUV segment.
Chevrolet has built the Equinox EV with the everyday user in mind. Starting from approximately 131,000 SAR, the base LT trim offers just the right mix of modern tech and minimal fuss. While it doesn't come standard with heated seats or hands-free driving, these options are available in higher trims or packages, pushing the fully equipped version closer to 187,000 SAR.
Inside, the cabin focuses on utility and simplicity. A Google-powered infotainment system supports Maps and Spotify, while the voice assistant ensures ease of use without added complexity. The overall design stays faithful to Chevrolet’s goal: make EVs approachable for a wide audience, especially those upgrading from fuel-powered vehicles for the first time.
Under the hood, or rather under the floor, the Equinox EV houses an 85 kWh lithium-ion battery paired with a permanent magnet motor delivering 220 hp and 329 Nm of torque. The acceleration is intentionally smooth, easing drivers into EV handling without the aggressive surge found in high-performance electric cars.
Its estimated range stands at 513 km on a full charge, ideal for both city errands and occasional longer drives. With 3.2 miles per kWh efficiency and DC fast-charging capability of up to 150 kW, it balances range and charging speed well. For those with access to a 350 kW charger, charging becomes faster, although this still isn’t class-leading.
While it weighs around 2,177 kg, making it feel grounded on the road, it also means a softer drive at high speeds. Still, it handles daily commutes with ease, making it a smart electric choice for city dwellers seeking comfort, range, and savings.
