  • How does the Denza B5 change the hybrid SUV game in the UAE
  • Why is the Denza B8 a serious luxury family SUV contender in the UAE

Denza has officially arrived in the United Arab Emirates, giving local drivers a new taste of Chinese luxury with European flavor. Backed by BYD electric know how and design DNA influenced by Mercedes Benz, the brand enters the market through Al Futtaim Electric Mobility Company with two plug in hybrid sport utility vehicles, the Denza B5 and the Denza B8. Both models promise long driving range, refined interiors, and high tech comfort that speaks directly to drivers in the UAE and across the Gulf who want efficiency without giving up presence and status.

Denza B5 price and performance

The Denza B5 steps into the UAE scene as a premium plug in hybrid SUV that mixes sharp looks with serious numbers. Prices start from 174,900 dirhams for the Deluxe edition and 199,900 dirhams for the Flagship edition, with colors like Vatnaj Ice Blue, Donomiti Green, Shadow Black and Peak Grey giving buyers plenty of personality on the street. The exterior follows a clean electric style, with a closed front grille, a slim front light bar, a floating roof effect and flush door handles that help the body cut through the air smoothly. With a wide stance, a generous approach angle of 34 degrees and 180 millimeters of ground clearance, the B5 is ready for city life in Dubai as well as light desert trails on weekends.

Inside, the Denza B5 feels more like a calm lounge than a traditional SUV cabin. Drivers find premium leather seats with heating and ventilation, a panoramic glass roof for an airy feel, and soft touch materials across the dashboard and doors. Practical touches like clever storage spaces, an onboard refrigerator and a heated steering wheel all speak directly to the long hot summers of the UAE. Under the hood, a 1.5 liter turbocharged petrol engine works together with dual electric motors to deliver up to about 317 kilowatts and 760 newton meters of torque. A 31.8 kilowatt hour BYD Blade LFP battery supports roughly 80 to 100 kilometers of pure electric driving and more than 780 kilometers of total range under WLTP testing, while the sprint from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.8 seconds gives the B5 real performance credentials. A 15.6 inch rotating central touchscreen with DiLink operating system, a 12.3 inch digital driver display, Devialet audio, wireless phone integration and charging, over the air updates, DiSus P intelligent suspension, multiple off road drive modes, external Vehicle to Load power, and both 11 kilowatt AC and up to 100 kilowatt DC fast charging complete the package, making the B5 a strong new choice for UAE buyers comparing it against familiar names like Toyota Prado, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Land Rover Defender, Mitsubishi Outlander and Lynk and Co 09.

Denza B8 luxury and space

For buyers in the UAE who want more size, more seats and more presence, the Denza B8 arrives as the flagship of the new lineup. Priced at 243,900 dirhams for the seven seat edition, this large SUV stretches to more than 5.1 meters in length and carries a bold Star Diamond front design that stands out on roads like Jumeirah Beach Road. Adaptive matrix LED headlights, a full width rear light bar and a confident side profile give the B8 the kind of road presence that many Gulf buyers look for in a family luxury SUV. The cabin can be configured with six or seven seats, with the six seat layout adding captain chairs in the second row that offer ventilation and massage functions. Soft close doors, high quality leather, 64 color ambient lighting and careful noise insulation create a quiet space that feels ready for both family life and chauffeur driven evenings.

Power comes from a 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with dual electric motors for a combined output of roughly 450 kilowatts and 760 newton meters of torque. A larger 36.9 kilowatt hour Blade battery supports about 100 kilometers of pure electric driving and a total WLTP range of around 825 kilometers, while zero to 100 kilometers per hour still takes only 4.8 seconds despite the size of the vehicle. The B8 supports 11 kilowatt AC charging and roughly 115 to 120 kilowatt DC fast charging, so owners in the UAE can top up quickly at modern public chargers. Inside, tech takes center stage with a 17.3 inch central touchscreen, a full digital instrument cluster, Devialet sound, dual wireless charging pads, heated and massaging front seats, smart climate control and an intelligent voice control system that can recognize commands from different zones in the cabin. DiSus P intelligent hydraulic suspension and multi terrain drive modes help keep the ride smooth on highways and stable on rougher roads. In the UAE market, the Denza B8 positions itself against heavy hitters like BMW X7, Range Rover Sport, Mercedes Benz EQE SUV, Volvo XC90 Recharge and Hongqi E HS9, while the brand plans to grow its UAE presence further with upcoming models such as the triple motor Denza N9, the mid tier N8L, the D9 luxury plug in MPV and future Z9 and Z9 GT sedans, giving buyers in the Emirates a full premium electrified family under one Chinese luxury nameplate.
