Jaguar is stepping into a bold new era, aiming to rebuild its identity as an all electric luxury brand. Early details around its upcoming flagship, known internally as the X900 and influenced by the Type 00 concept, are already stirring one big question in the EV world. Does extreme power still matter when silence, comfort, and brand image are the new status symbols?
Jaguar is developing the X900 around a three motor setup, one motor up front and two in the rear, delivering over 735 kW, roughly 1000 hp, with a rear biased torque split that can adapt to driving conditions. Jaguar is also targeting a weight under 2750 kg, which fits the scale of a full size flagship that is expected to stretch beyond 5 meters in length and sit on massive 58 cm wheels for serious road presence. A large battery pack estimated at about 120 kWh is expected to support up to 644 km of range on the WLTP cycle, putting the focus on both grand touring distance and high end comfort. Reports also point to advanced refinement features like adaptive air suspension and rear wheel steering up to 6 degrees for better maneuverability, plus strong cabin quietness at very high speeds.
Jaguar is using the Type 00 concept as the design direction for its next chapter, and that matters because the brand is not just changing powertrains, it is changing the entire vibe. The long hood proportions and dramatic silhouette are meant to signal classic British luxury, even though the hardware underneath is fully electric. Jaguar is also clearly signaling a shift in strategy, leaning into exclusivity, higher margins, and a new customer base rather than chasing volume. With early expectations pointing to orders opening in summer 2026 and deliveries not starting before 2027, the Type 00 is more than a concept, it is a message about where Jaguar wants to sit in the luxury world next.
