Before its official debut, the all-new 2026 Jeep Compass has made headlines with a series of leaked images that showcase a complete design overhaul and bold mechanical ambitions. Featuring a sharper silhouette, a boxier stance, and riding on the advanced Stellantis STLA Medium platform, the upcoming Compass signals a shift in Jeep’s strategy for compact SUVs. The photos reveal both an all-electric variant and a rugged off-road Trailhawk version, hinting at a diverse lineup ready to challenge the competition.
The first look at the cabin reveals a major step forward in sophistication and tech-focused design. The centerpiece is a large infotainment screen mounted at the top of the center console, accompanied by a rotary dial and a clean row of tactile buttons below. Sleek aluminum accents and thoughtful storage spaces hint at premium aspirations.
Key highlights include a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display projected onto the windshield, and contrast-stitched leather seats. These premium features suggest that Jeep aims to position the Compass closer to the upscale end of the compact SUV spectrum, targeting tech-savvy and comfort-driven buyers.
Built on the STLA Medium platformو, shared with models like the Peugeot 3008 and Citroën C5 Aircross, the new Compass blends European sophistication with Jeep’s off-road DNA. According to the leaks, it will be offered with three distinct powertrain choices: a mild hybrid (e-Hybrid), a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and a fully electric model producing up to 239 kilowatts (321 hp) with all-wheel drive.
Battery options are expected to include 73 kWh and 97 kWh capacities, mirroring the specs of the Peugeot e-3008. This powertrain variety positions the Compass 2026 as a versatile contender in a rapidly electrifying segment. Production is set to begin in Italy by late 2025, with Canadian manufacturing plans postponed due to new tariff regulations.
