The Kia Stinger may be history, but the brand’s new Meta Turismo concept hints at a future packed with power, style, and EV tech. If it ever makes it to showrooms, a production ready EV8 GT could be Kia’s ticket back into the spotlight and take the fight to Tesla and Lucid.
Kia’s Meta Turismo GT concept turns heads with its blend of classic wedge shaped lines and modern aggression. Celebrating the brand’s 80th anniversary, the car channels both 1960s concept flair and today’s performance edge. Designers paired soft, rounded surfaces with crisp angles, creating a look that stands out even among other futuristic EVs. Up front, the active lattice grille and low set tiger nose give the car a dynamic face, while carbon fiber details sweep from the splitter to the side skirts and hood. The fastback profile and flush door handles boost aerodynamics, and out back, a sharp LED light bar and sculpted diffuser tie everything together.
Inside, the concept is all drama, but a production EV8 GT would likely dial things back to keep the focus on the driver. Tech lovers can expect a head up display with augmented reality, smart glass, and deep AI integration. Think conversational voice controls and ChatGPT style assistants. Everything is designed to look forward, but it still feels familiar enough for everyday drivers.
If the EV8 GT goes beyond the concept stage, performance will be front and center. Engineers would likely use Hyundai’s E GMP platform, famous for its 800 volt architecture and vehicle to load capability. Dual motors could put down over 650 horsepower (about 480 kilowatts) and 770 newton meters of torque, launching the car to 100 kilometers per hour in under three seconds. Adaptive damping, torque vectoring, and rear biased all wheel drive promise both comfort and sharp handling for drivers who love a twisty road.
Battery tech is just as bold. While solid state packs are still a few years off, a 100 kilowatt hour lithium iron phosphate battery could deliver over 700 kilometers of range. Expect simulated gear shifts, performance sounds, and plenty of modern EV features. With rivals like the Polestar 5, Tesla Model S, Lucid Air, and even Xiaomi SU7 in the mix, the EV8 GT would have plenty to prove.
