Kia has stirred up a wave of excitement with its latest teaser for The Kia Concept, an all electric show car that hints at the possible return of the Stinger spirit in a new, future facing GT form. After discontinuing the Stinger in 2023, the company’s bold new design sketches suggest that a grand tourer EV could be in the works, blending sleek style, fresh tech, and a lot of attitude.
The new concept car reveals dramatic coupe lines, an aggressive sloping roof, and a possible liftback design that feels bigger and more sophisticated than the EV4. Even though Kia has not confirmed that this is a Stinger revival, the proportions and sharp new design language echo the Stinger’s grand touring DNA. The car is visibly larger than the EV4, with a shorter front overhang that hints at a true electric platform underneath.
Key exterior details include pronounced wheel arches, wide LED lights that stretch toward digital side cameras, and a panoramic glass roof that suggests this model could be both futuristic and luxurious. While the car lacks a traditional B pillar, confirming its concept status, some features like the full glass roof could carry over to production. The absence of a combustion engine bay means Kia is clearly aiming for a full EV, but a range extending motor is not off the table.
Beneath the surface, the concept could use Hyundai’s Ioniq 6 platform for a faster market launch or move to Kia’s new eM platform, which promises up to fifty percent more driving range than current E GMP models. Logical expectations include a rear drive single motor base version and a high performance all wheel drive dual motor variant. If Kia sticks to this plan, this new grand tourer could help the brand reach its ambitious target of over one million two hundred thousand electric car sales per year by 2030.
There is still no official word from Kia on when this car will debut. While the EV2 will be shown in January at the Brussels show, insiders expect the production version of this GT concept to arrive no earlier than 2027, with a price point above Kia’s entry level EVs. While details remain secret, the very idea of the Stinger’s return as an all electric GT is already causing a buzz among car fans everywhere.
