Lexus has just introduced the LFA Concept, an electric sports car designed to bring back the magic of the original V10 LFA, but now with cutting edge battery power. Unveiled at the Tokyo global premiere, this concept shows how Lexus plans to keep its tradition of craftsmanship alive even as the brand moves toward full electrification. The new LFA Concept is not about breaking from the past, it is about evolving what made Lexus special in the first place.
The LFA Concept is more than just a new sports car. It stands for the idea that classic car making skills should never be lost, only adapted for a new era. Inspired by the Japanese Shikinen Sengu ritual, where artisans rebuild and pass on skills to the next generation, Lexus uses this philosophy to guide its electric future. The concept proves that you can blend true heritage with new tech, keeping the soul of legendary cars like the original LFA or the 2000GT alive in the age of electric vehicles.
At the heart of the LFA Concept is an all aluminum space frame, which keeps weight low and the chassis stiff, making it agile even with a battery pack. Its proportions are classic and striking, with a long wheelbase and low stance that supports a perfect driving position and sharp handling. Every detail, from the double wishbone suspension to the smooth, timeless lines of the body, is engineered for connection and performance.
Unlike most electric sports cars that focus only on speed, the LFA Concept aims to completely immerse the driver. The interior puts everything within easy reach, letting you control the car almost by instinct, while the seats and steering wheel are shaped to feel like an extension of your body. Lexus calls this approach Discover Immersion. It means you do not just drive the LFA Concept, you become part of it.
The design is not just beautiful, it is functional. Each sculpted panel helps guide air, improve stability, and deliver a feeling that lasts beyond trends. Thanks to the flexible battery electric platform, there is no engine bay or tunnel to limit layout, which means more freedom for performance and comfort. Developed alongside Toyota’s GR GT projects, the LFA Concept brings together motorsport knowledge, hand crafted quality, and modern electric engineering in a way that challenges everything people expect from battery powered sports cars.
