Nissan is shaking up the electric crossover game with the all new Juke. As part of the company’s plan to introduce five electric models in Europe by 2026, the third generation of the Juke will debut with a futuristic design, cutting edge tech, and full electric performance. Production is set to begin in Sunderland, UK, possibly alongside EVs for Dongfeng, highlighting a new global strategy.
With bold design cues borrowed from the Hyper Punk concept car and a completely electric lineup, Nissan is betting big on the Juke’s transformation to stand out in a crowded EV market.
Nissan is redefining the Juke’s image with sharper lines, a coupe-style sloping roof, and hidden rear door handles. The bold styling is heavily inspired by the Hyper Punk concept unveiled at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show, known for its geometric shapes and bright lighting. While extreme elements like scissor doors are left out, signature details like the triple daytime running lights remain.
The Juke’s sporty personality continues inside. Though official photos have not been revealed, leaks suggest a roomier cabin with improved materials and design shaped around the driver. Expect sculpted dashboards and a wraparound center console, mirroring what was seen in the concept. This shift from quirky to futuristic signals Nissan’s aim to attract modern lifestyle-focused drivers.
Unlike the outgoing model, the new Juke will be fully electric with no hybrid or gas powered options. Built on the CMF EV platform (shared with the Nissan Ariya and future Renault EVs), the crossover will offer flexible battery sizes and better interior space. Expected battery choices include 63 and 87 kilowatt hour packs, delivering a driving range between 400 to 480 kilometers.
Nissan may also release a more affordable version with a 40 to 55 kilowatt hour battery to lower the price point. Base models will likely feature front wheel drive with 120 to 150 horsepower, while higher trims may use a dual motor setup with all wheel drive under the sporty Nismo branding.
Set to rival compact electric SUVs like the Jeep Avenger EV, Kia EV3, Hyundai Kona Electric, and Renault 4 EV, the new Juke will first launch in Europe in 2026. For now, the current generation will continue alongside the new model for a transition period.
