Below are some common traffic violations and their associated fines in AED:

Incorrect overtaking: Incorrect overtaking is considered a serious violation that may lead to fatal accidents. The fine for this violation amounts to 600 dirhams, with the possibility of adding black points to the driving licence.

Jumping a red light: This violation puts the life of the driver and others at risk. The fine for this violation ranges from 800 to 1,000 dirhams, in addition to the possibility of impounding the vehicle.

Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs: Driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs is considered a serious violation, and results in large financial fines that may lead to imprisonment at the discretion of the judiciary, in addition to the withdrawal of the license.

Excessive speeding: Excessive speeding fines vary based on how much you exceed the speed limit. For example, exceeding speed by more than 50 km/h may result in a fine of up to 1,000 dirhams and 12 black points.

Failure to use a seat belt: Using a seat belt is mandatory for the driver and all passengers, and failure to adhere to this rule will result in a fine of up to 400 dirhams.

Using a mobile phone while driving: Distraction due to using the phone puts the driver and others at risk. The fine for this violation is 800 dirhams, with black points added.

Illegal parking: This violation includes parking in prohibited places or random stops that obstruct traffic. The fine for this violation may reach 500 dirhams, in addition to the possibility of impounding the vehicle in some cases.
