The most expensive license plate in Dubai 'P 7’ sells for a whopping 15 Million USD

10 Apr 2023

Dubai is known for its luxurious lifestyle, fast cars, and lavish spending. In a recent event, a Dubai-based businessman has set a new record by purchasing the most expensive license plate in the world for a staggering $15 million. The number plate, ‘P 7’, is now considered the most valuable license plate in the world, surpassing the previous record held by the ‘F1’ plate, which sold for $14 million in Abu Dhabi in 2008. The UAE is famous for the most expensive license plate numbers in the world, which are sold periodically at auctions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the latest of which is the “Noble Number” charity auction for distinguished numbers, which was held this week in Dubai, and its total revenue 97,920 million dirhams, will be donated to the one billion meal campaign that is launched by Dubai Ruler and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The ‘P 7’ plate was auctioned off by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai in late February 2021. The plate was part of a series of unique plates that were auctioned off by the RTA as part of their annual auction. The auction has been held every year since 2008, and it is known for attracting some of the world's wealthiest individuals who compete for the most exclusive license plates in the world.

The ‘P 7’ plate is considered to be one of the most sought-after plates in Dubai due to its short and simple combination of letters and numbers. It is also believed to be one of the oldest plates in the emirate, having been issued in the early 1980s. The plate has been owned by the Dubai government since it was first issued, and it was only recently put up for auction.

The winning bidder, whose identity has not been disclosed, has not revealed why he was willing to pay such a huge sum for the ‘P 7’ plate. However, it is not uncommon for wealthy individuals in Dubai to spend huge amounts of money on unique license plates to show off their status and wealth.

The sale of the ‘P 7’ plate has once again highlighted Dubai's love for luxury and extravagant spending. In recent years, the city has become known for its opulent lifestyle, with the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, and some of the world's most luxurious hotels, such as the Burj Al Arab and the Atlantis, located in the city.

While the sale of the ‘P 7’ plate has raised eyebrows and sparked debate among some people about the value of such extravagances, others argue that it is simply a reflection of the growing wealth and prosperity in the region.

2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1: The Fastest, Most Powerful Corvette Ever

Chevrolet has unleashed the unthinkable in the Corvette ZR1. The King of the Hill returns with the most powerful V8 ever produced in America from an auto manufacturer, mind-bending specs, and iconic design to challenge the world’s best supercars in both coupe and convertible variants.

• Corvette ZR1 features a 5.5L, twin-turbocharged DOHC flat-plane crank V8 engine dubbed the LT7.

• The LT7 engine produces 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 828 lb-ft (1123 Nm) of torque at 6,000 rpm, per SAE guidelines — the most power ever from a factory Corvette and the most powerful V8 ever produced in America from an auto manufacturer.

• Corvette ZR1 boasts a GM-estimated top speed of over 215 mph (346 Kph) on the racetrack and will dispatch the quarter mile with a GM-estimated sub-10-second time1.

• Purposeful carbon fiber aero package creates over 1,200 pounds (544 Kg) of downforce at top speed.

• ZR1 revives one of the most iconic styles in Corvette history: the split rear window.

“The team that revolutionized Corvette with a mid-engine architecture took on another challenge: take ZR1 to the next level,” said Scott Bell, vice president, Chevrolet. “Corvette ZR1 is about pushing the envelope with raw power and cutting-edge innovation. The automotive world is abuzz with the announcement that Lanzante, the renowned vehicle specialist known for transforming track-focused machines into road-going marvels, is set to convert the Red Bull RB17 hypercar into a street-legal version. This ambitious project aims to bring Adrian Newey’s V-10 beast from the racetrack to the public roads, and while the challenge is daunting, Lanzante's track record suggests they are up for it. The Red Bull RB17, designed by the legendary Adrian Newey, is a testament to cutting-edge engineering and performance. The track-only version of the hypercar weighs a mere 1,984 pounds, making it lighter than a Mazda MX-5 Miata ND. Yet, despite its featherweight design, it boasts a staggering 1,200 horsepower. This immense power allows it to lap Silverstone a second quicker than a Formula 1 car, according to recent simulations.
