Audi is changing the way passengers experience road trips. No longer limited to music and seat controls, some of the brand’s newest models now come with an in car gaming platform called AirConsole. Designed for front passengers only, this system brings mobile style games to life using the main infotainment screen or a dedicated passenger display. It’s one of the boldest steps yet toward turning the cabin into an entertainment hub without distracting the driver.
With the launch of AirConsole, Audi is offering a curated selection of games that passengers can play during the drive, using nothing but their smartphones. Once inside the car, passengers can scan a QR code that connects their phones to the system instantly, turning the device into a controller. Games like UNO Car Party, Pictionary, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire are already available, playable right on the passenger screen. Importantly, Audi uses what it calls a dynamic privacy mode, which ensures the driver cannot see or interact with the screen while the car is in motion. The new feature is currently limited to select models including the A5, Q5, A6, and the Q6 e tron. Users can download AirConsole through the Audi Application Store, though availability across all models remains unclear. While the PC version of AirConsole offers over 140 titles (including the popular game Overcooked), Audi has not confirmed how many of these will make it into its car-ready library. Still, with rising interest in in car entertainment, more games and models will likely be added soon.
