Kia has taken its popular three row SUV to a whole new level for 2027. The new Telluride made its first appearance at the Los Angeles Auto Show, sporting a striking new look, expanded interior space, and a game changing hybrid powertrain. This major redesign aims to keep the Telluride a family favorite with more comfort, efficiency, and tech than ever before.
The 2027 Telluride stands out with a more assertive design that brings a real sense of adventure. Up front, the SUV now features a taller and wider grille that stretches to the headlights, giving it a stronger presence on the road. Different trims like SXP and XRT have their own grille patterns, while the new front and rear bumpers add sharp lines that give the Telluride a more rugged edge.
Kia also introduced a floating roof effect that extends to the rear cargo area, and covered wheel arches for extra protection and style. The X Pro trim features unique orange tow hooks and cross pattern wheels, pushing the SUV’s off road attitude. Beyond just looks, the Telluride is bigger than ever. The wheelbase has grown by nearly three inches, and the overall length now reaches almost five meters. Inside, families get more usable space, especially behind the third row, making this one of the most spacious SUVs in its class.
Inside the 2027 Telluride, Kia went all in on comfort and high tech features. The dashboard is dominated by two connected twelve inch screens, offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. There are still physical buttons for easy control while driving, and the cabin is finished with upscale touches like real wood, polished metal, and premium leather.
The color options are fresh too, with Deep Navy and Blackberry joining the lineup. Seats can be trimmed in two tone leather, with special mesh headrests for extra comfort. It all feels like a step up from the previous model, and rivals some luxury brands for look and feel.
Under the hood, Kia ditched the old V6 for a pair of new engines. The standard 2.5 liter turbo makes 274 horsepower and delivers up to 35 miles per gallon, while the all new hybrid version blends turbo power with electric motors for a combined 329 horsepower. This new hybrid not only boosts performance but also improves fuel economy and range, perfect for family trips.
Kia is keeping prices competitive. Entry models are expected to start below forty thousand dollars, while the top SX Prestige X Pro edition could go past fifty six thousand dollars. That positions the new Telluride right up against favorites like the Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, and Mazda CX 90.
