The MG5 2025 has officially debuted in Saudi Arabia through the Jeddah Motor Show, bringing a refreshed look, modern features, and improved comfort. Positioned as an affordable yet stylish sedan, the MG5 aims to capture the attention of young drivers and families looking for a mix of practicality and technology. With three trims on sale, the car blends an aggressive exterior, spacious cabin, advanced tech, and a budget friendly price that makes it a strong contender in the economy sedan category.
The 2025 MG5 takes inspiration from its sportier sibling, the MG GT, to deliver a sharper, more aggressive appearance. The front fascia now features a larger grille paired with sleek LED headlights that give the sedan a commanding presence on the road. Buyers will also find 16 inch alloy wheels, LED taillights with integrated daytime running lights, a smart keyless entry system, and an available electric sunroof on the higher trim. Measuring 4607 mm long, 1818 mm wide, and 1489 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2680 mm, the MG5 offers a proportion that balances sporty character with everyday usability.
Step inside the MG5 and the cabin reveals its focus on comfort and practicality. Seating capacity is for five passengers, with options of fabric or leather upholstery depending on trim. Entry models provide manual seat adjustments, while the top tier Deluxe trim introduces six way power adjustability for the driver’s seat. The dashboard highlights include a 12.3 inch digital driver display, a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless charging in higher trims. Rear AC vents ensure passengers stay comfortable on long drives across Saudi roads, while ambient touches in design reflect MG’s push toward a more premium feel in the budget sedan class.
Technology takes center stage in the MG5 2025. Standard features include push button start, multiple USB ports, and a 4 speaker audio system (upgraded to 6 speakers on higher trims). For safety, the car is equipped with 6 airbags, ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution, traction control, and electronic stability control. Rear parking sensors and a 360 degree camera boost convenience, especially in city environments. While advanced features like blind spot monitoring and automatic emergency braking are missing, the MG5 still delivers solid basics for its class.
Under the hood, the MG5 2025 is powered by a 1.5 liter four cylinder petrol engine delivering 110 horsepower and 140 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT gearbox sending power to the front wheels. The sedan achieves an efficient fuel economy of 16.8 km per liter with a 45 liter fuel tank, making it a cost effective option for daily commutes. Prices in Saudi Arabia start at 55,775 SAR for the Standard trim, 63,250 SAR for the Comfort trim, and 69,575 SAR for the Deluxe trim (all inclusive of VAT). Each purchase is backed by a 3 year or 100,000 km warranty, extendable by another 3 years or 100,000 km for added peace of mind.
