In a stunning and audacious display of daring, Nissan has once again pushed the boundaries of innovation and excitement by breaking the world record for the highest bungee jump with a car. The pioneering Nissan Qashqai, a leader in the crossover segment for 17 years, took center stage in this adrenaline-fueled event, setting a new Guinness World Record in the process.

The extraordinary feat was part of the new TV campaign for the updated Nissan Qashqai, which is set to hit screens in September. Known for its bold and thrilling advertisements, Nissan designed this campaign to evoke the spirit of the Qashqai's legacy of excitement. From skateboarding and surfing to paintballing, the Qashqai has long been associated with high-adrenaline activities, and now, it has made the leap into uncharted territory—literally.

Suspended 65 meters above the ground, the Nissan Qashqai was placed in a basket before making the jaw-dropping bungee jump. Accompanied by a professional stuntman, the challenge showcased Nissan’s commitment to pushing the limits of the ordinary, in line with their brand motto: Defy Ordinary!

"This is the kind of daring and furiously essential challenge that we love at Nissan," said Jérôme Biguet, Marketing Director of Nissan France. "The brand has always shown its ability to innovate and shake up habits with audacity, and sometimes even impertinence. In previous TV spots, the Qashqai has tackled thrilling activities like skateboarding, surfing, and paintball. For this campaign, the idea of a bungee jump quickly came to mind, symbolizing the bold personality of the new Qashqai."

The bungee jump was executed in the Paris region with the assistance of Nissan France, its agencies FUSE and Nissan United, and technical teams from the BBC. The record-breaking feat was performed in front of an official Guinness World Records jury, who validated it as the highest bungee jump with a car.

The event was revealed to the public in a prime-time broadcast on Sunday, September 8, on the French TV channel TF1, with popular presenter and Nissan brand ambassador Denis Brogniart hosting the event. The stunt not only captivated viewers but also highlighted the bold spirit of the Qashqai, reinforcing its reputation as a groundbreaking vehicle in the crossover market.

The newly updated Nissan Qashqai, which is now available across Europe, sports a bold new exterior design and a comprehensively revised interior. In addition to aesthetic improvements, the latest model also boasts advanced technology with Google built-in, enabling drivers to access Google Maps, Google Voice Assistant, and apps from the Google Play store, offering seamless connectivity and an enhanced driving experience.

As Nissan continues to redefine what’s possible, the Qashqai’s record-breaking bungee jump serves as a testament to the brand’s relentless pursuit of innovation and excitement.
