Toyota has officially launched the first ever Land Cruiser Hybrid in the United Arab Emirates, offering a more powerful and eco-conscious alternative in the large SUV segment. With two distinct trims and a powertrain borrowed from the Lexus LX 700h, this hybrid beast brings a strong challenge to rivals like the Nissan Patrol and full-size luxury SUVs. Reservations are now open for just 2,000 AED, and deliveries are underway.
The Land Cruiser Hybrid comes in two trims: the entry-level VXR and the high-performance GR-Sport. The VXR starts at 389,900 AED and features a bold Hybrid Jet Black bumper design. The GR-Sport, priced at 409,900 AED, adds sporty black accents, a more aggressive grille, and 18-inch mud-gray wheels. Both versions feature signature hybrid badges like “HYBRID Beyond Zero” on the rear and “457TT” on the side.
Under the hood, both trims share the same twin turbocharged 3.5 liter V6 hybrid engine paired with a 10 speed automatic transmission. The system generates 357 horsepower and a massive 790 Nm of torque, hitting 100 km per hour in just 4 seconds. It also includes a nickel metal hydride battery cleverly integrated into the gearbox. Drivers can switch between multiple drive modes including Comfort, Eco, Sport, Sport Plus, Custom, and Multi Terrain with Crawl Control for serious off-road adventure.
While the Land Cruiser Hybrid retains the classic three row layout with leather upholstery, it elevates the interior with upgraded features. The front and rear seats offer power adjustments, heating, ventilation, and even a massage function. The panoramic sunroof is standard on higher trims, adding more light and openness to the cabin.
Technology gets a major boost with a 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster and a matching 12.3 inch infotainment system. Rear passengers enjoy dual 11 inch screens, while everyone benefits from four zone climate control and a JBL premium audio system with 14 speakers. Toyota also includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless chargers, and an advanced Level 2 ADAS safety suite. This includes a head up display, 360 degree camera, terrain monitoring, tire pressure sensors, and 10 airbags for maximum protection.
