Audi has unveiled the 2025 RS E-Tron GT Performance, a groundbreaking electric vehicle (EV) that redefines the boundaries of power and performance for the brand. This new model, part of a comprehensive update to the E-Tron GT lineup, is set to be Audi's most powerful production car to date, boasting an impressive 912 horsepower.

Unleashing Unprecedented Power

Unleashing Unprecedented Power

The RS E-Tron GT Performance stands at the pinnacle of the updated E-Tron GT range, which includes the S E-Tron GT, the RS E-Tron GT, and the flagship RS E-Tron GT Performance. With 912 horsepower, this EV surpasses its siblings in sheer power, though it slightly lags behind its Porsche cousin, the 1,019-hp Taycan Turbo GT. Despite this, it remains Audi’s most potent car ever and the fastest in its lineup, accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in a blistering 2.5 seconds—just 0.2 seconds slower than the Taycan.

The performance upgrades extend across the range. The RS E-Tron GT, with 845 hp, reaches 62 mph in 2.8 seconds, while the base E-Tron GT, offering 671 hp, hits the same mark in 3.4 seconds. Top speeds vary slightly, with the RS models capping at 155 mph and the base model at 152 mph. All variants feature a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive configuration, with no plans for a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive option.

Audi has significantly upgraded the E-Tron GT's battery, increasing its usable capacity from 84.0 kilowatt-hours to 97.0 kilowatt-hours while reducing weight by 20 pounds. The battery, now supporting a 320-kilowatt maximum charging power (up from 270 kilowatts), allows for quicker recharging. Under optimal conditions, the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes, and a 10-minute charge can add up to 174 miles of range.

Beyond the battery, the RS E-Tron GT Performance benefits from a lighter rear electric motor, shedding approximately 22 pounds. For those prioritizing efficiency, the base S E-Tron GT offers a maximum range of 378 miles on the WLTP cycle, though this figure is expected to be lower according to EPA standards.

The new E-Tron GT range features a newly developed two-chamber, two-valve air suspension system. This active setup can lower the car by 2.1 to 3 inches in seconds, enhancing comfort over bumps. The RS E-Tron GT Performance takes this further with a dedicated performance mode tailored for track use.

Futuristic design

Futuristic design

While the E-Tron GT’s design remains futuristic, it incorporates nostalgic elements. The 21-inch forged wheels are inspired by the 1991 Audi Avus Quattro concept, and the RS E-Tron GT Performance’s digital instrument cluster features a white theme that pays homage to the 1994 RS2 Avant.

The 2025 RS E-Tron GT Performance is a testament to Audi's commitment to pushing the boundaries of electric vehicle performance. With its astonishing power, rapid acceleration, advanced battery technology, and thoughtful design, it sets a new benchmark for the brand and the industry. As Audi continues to innovate, the future of electric mobility looks brighter and faster than ever.
