In a world where supercars often come with sky-high price tags and limited customization options, British engineering company Dash Bespoke is changing the game. As a division of Dash Engineering, known for its motorsport projects since 2006, Dash Bespoke offers a revolutionary approach with the TR01 platform. This carbon fiber monocoque chassis is fully customizable, allowing clients to choose everything from the powertrain and drive layout to the body design, creating a truly one-of-a-kind supercar.
The TR01 platform, first revealed in 2023, is built entirely from carbon fiber to be lightweight yet incredibly strong, meeting strict Euro NCAP safety standards. Its modular engineering allows for a wide range of configurations, including electric or V8 engines, rear or all-wheel drive, and fully bespoke exterior and interior designs. This adaptability opens the door for customers to create anything from a road-legal grand tourer to a track-focused hypercar, all while maintaining high safety and performance standards.
CEO Tim Robathan explains that building a low-volume supercar from scratch is both complex and expensive, often reserved for the wealthiest clients. Dash Bespoke changes this by providing a ready-to-use engineering base, dramatically reducing development time and cost. While pricing is yet to be announced, it will be far below what it costs to commission a car from a major brand, without compromising on personalization. Customers will be able to decide on every detail, from the body style and performance tuning to the smallest interior finishes, making high-level customization more attainable than ever.
By breaking the monopoly that major brands have on full customization, Dash Bespoke’s TR01 platform could democratize the bespoke supercar experience. This approach empowers car enthusiasts to design vehicles that not only reflect their personality but also incorporate innovative features, such as flexible solar panels for electric models. With sustainability and personalization at the forefront, this could signal a new chapter in the evolution of high-performance automotive design.
The first car to be built on the TR01 platform, called SlipStream, will make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Powered by a mid-mounted V8 from Hartley in New Zealand, the SlipStream features carbon fiber subframes, lightweight aluminum suspension, and hydraulic dampers from Nitron. This model demonstrates the performance capabilities of the TR01 chassis, blending advanced engineering with high-end materials to deliver a car that is as unique as its owner’s vision.
The TR01 platform is engineered to integrate advanced electric systems and alternative energy solutions. Dash Bespoke is exploring the use of flexible solar panels that can follow the curves of the car’s bodywork, opening possibilities for enhanced efficiency in electric and hybrid builds. This forward-thinking approach ensures that bespoke supercars are not only personal and powerful but also aligned with the future of green performance technology.
