Rolls Royce has taken bespoke craftsmanship to a new level with the debut of the Phantom Arabesque, a one of a kind masterpiece inspired by Middle Eastern architectural beauty. Revealed by the brand’s Private Office in Dubai, this special Phantom Extended features the world’s first laser engraved bonnet, a technique developed over five years at the Home of Rolls Royce in Goodwood.
At the heart of this exceptional creation is a newly patented laser engraving process, used for the very first time on a Rolls Royce bonnet. The result is a sculptural surface that pays homage to mashrabiya latticework, the delicate geometric woodwork seen in traditional Arabian architecture. These patterns are more than just decoration, they embody centuries of cultural design found in courtyards, homes and palaces across the Middle East.
This cutting edge bonnet is just the beginning. The mashrabiya motif is echoed in the Phantom’s marquetry Gallery, crafted from Blackwood and Bolivar veneers, and appears as hand painted, embroidered and even illuminated details throughout the cabin. The artistic execution blends ancient craftsmanship with modern precision, all under the direction of Rolls Royce’s elite Dubai-based commissioning team.
The Phantom Arabesque is more than a luxury car, it is a cultural tribute designed exclusively for a discerning client through the brand’s invitation-only Private Office Dubai. One of just five global hubs for Rolls Royce’s most personalized commissions, this office worked closely with the craftspeople in Goodwood to bring traditional Arabesque forms to life in new, contemporary ways.
By incorporating motifs inspired by mashrabiya screens into everything from the bonnet to the cabin lighting and upholstery, Rolls Royce has created a mobile gallery of Middle Eastern artistic legacy. This Phantom is not only a symbol of ultra luxury, but also a rolling celebration of regional identity, made for the streets and showcases of the Gulf and beyond.
