The NOVITEC Range for the Ferrari 296 GTS Upgrade to 868 HP

  • How do NOVITEC’s tailor-made naked-carbon bodywork components improve the aerodynamics and overall performance of the Ferrari 296 GTS?

Thanks to its innovative hybrid drive system, the Ferrari 296 GTS stands out as one of the most powerful open-top sports cars on the market. To elevate the Italian two-seater's thrill and individuality, NOVITEC's technical specialists and designers have developed an extensive refinement range.

Exquisite Carbon Aerodynamics

Exquisite Carbon Aerodynamics

NOVITEC’s tailor-made naked-carbon bodywork components not only enhance the Ferrari’s striking appearance but also optimize its aerodynamics. The front bumper is fitted with a lip spoiler and a spoiler for the large air intake, reducing front-axle lift while providing a more aggressive look. At the rear, a distinctive ducktail spoiler increases downforce at high speeds. Complementing this aerodynamic enhancement are a diffuser and a cover for the rear camera, both crafted from carbon fiber.

The sides of the 296 GTS receive NOVITEC carbon rocker panels, side mirror trims, and quarter glass trims, adding visual flair. The side air intake covers are designed to direct airflow more efficiently into the vents behind the doors, aiding engine cooling and combustion.

NOVITEC's collaboration with Vossen has produced the NF10 high-tech alloy wheels, emphasizing the Ferrari's wedge shape with a combination of 21-inch front and 22-inch rear wheels. These exclusive wheels, featuring five delicate twin spokes and hubcaps with center-lock styling, are available in 72 colors with brushed or polished finishes. The front wheels measure 9.5Jx21 with 255/30 ZR 21 tires, while the rear wheels are 11.5Jx22 with 335/25 ZR 22 tires, perfectly filling the wheel wells.

NOVITEC amplifies the Ferrari 296 GTS's performance with targeted modifications to the turbocharged six-cylinder engine. The upgrade includes flow-optimized turbo inlets, a high-performance exhaust system, and sports catalysts. These enhancements boost the engine's output by 38 horsepower, resulting in a system output of 638 kW / 868 hp.

The high-performance exhaust systems are crafted from stainless steel or the lightweight INCONEL alloy, used in Formula 1 racing. These exhausts are thermally insulated to reduce engine bay temperatures and can be optionally gold-plated for additional weight reduction and exclusivity. Integrated butterfly valves allow the driver to adjust the exhaust note from within the cockpit.

To sharpen the Ferrari’s handling, NOVITEC offers sports springs that lower the ride height by about 35 millimeters. These springs are also part of a hydraulic height adjustment system for the front axle, enabling the car to navigate speed bumps and parking ramps with ease. At the touch of a button, the front can be raised by about 40 millimeters and automatically returns to its standard height at speeds over 80 km/h.

NOVITEC provides cockpit refinement for all Ferrari models, offering the finest leathers and Alcantara in a virtually endless variety of colors. This allows owners to express maximum individuality with perfect craftsmanship.

NOVITEC's enhancements for the Ferrari 296 GTS elevate this remarkable vehicle to new heights of performance, aesthetics, and individuality. From carbon aerodynamic components and high-tech forged wheels to a powerful performance upgrade and luxurious interior options, NOVITEC continues its legacy of making the world's most exclusive automobiles even more exciting and aerodynamically efficient.

The Coolest Modded Dodge Viper Off-Roader

The Coolest Modded Dodge Viper Off-Roader

A V-10 supercar that can jump through the air? Sign us up. The original Dodge Viper is not an off-roader. Low-slung, sporty, and stiff, its main purpose is to deliver joy via twisty tarmac and big, open, smooth-paved highways. Apparently, nobody mentioned that to the builder of this Viper, which has gone through extensive modifications to make it a competent desert runner. Somehow, it looks rad as hell.

In addition to the cut fenders and giant all-terrain tires, Matt designed custom uprights for the front suspension to work with aftermarket long-travel shocks and springs. Out back, the factory Viper suspension has been totally thrown out in favor of a solid axle taken from a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, complete with a locking differential. The 8.0-liter naturally aspirated V-10 and six-speed Tremec T-56 transmission have, thankfully, been left alone.

Surprisingly, Matt's testing reveals just a few small issues with the safari Viper. The locking diff means donuts are easy, but even with an upgraded radiator, coolant temperatures climbed higher than he would've liked. And while slow-speed rock-crawling was a success, the lack of a low-speed transfer case made torque modulation difficult.

Matt was brave enough to take the Viper off several jumps, made possible by the balloon-like tires and big-travel dampers. Though the car handled the landings fairly well, some of the interior trim fell off, and a couple of the custom suspension pieces were beginning to separate from each other. Nothing a few extra welds can't fix.
